Lanestosa

Our Lady of the Snows

Every August 5 Lanestosa celebrates one of the most popular and lively festivals in the area, where Nestosans and visitors from the surrounding towns meet equally: Our Lady of the Snows. Music groups perform live in the Plaza Nueva for the enjoyment of children and adults until late at night.

The party runs through every corner of the town. The colorful dance of the flowery arches takes place within the framework of this celebration. Although its origin is unknown, some documents attribute more than 500 years old.

The dances are represented by men dressed in white with gerriko (traditional belt) and red scarf around the neck, which according to tradition should be given by mothers or girlfriends.
