The oldest news concerning Enkarterri comes from the 12th century and the first mention of the meetings in Abellaneda is dated in 1394. It was from 1500 when each council began to send a representative to the Boards, at which time the building was also built. First House of Boards, replaced in 1592 by the current one.
The House of Boards was for centuries the emblem of political freedoms and the uniqueness of the territory. Converted today into the Museum of Las Encartaciones, it is a space for research and dissemination of the history, heritage and ethnography of the region.
